The zipper is an important garment part which is used for the opening and closing function. It can be used as a “trimming” and also used as garment “accessory”. Zippers are the most common fastening device used in the apparel industry. Today I would like to discuss the classification of zippers and their uses.
Classification of the Zipper:
There are different classifications for zippers depending on form, styles, fabrication, uses of materials, etc. There are some materials used for the zipper manufacturing process such as metallic, plastic, wooden, animal bones, etc.
Generally, zippers are classified three ways. They are explained below –
According to the zipper teeth material.
According to the zipper teeth size.
According to the zipper function.
